Upon arriving at the gang’s hideout the crew scouted the scene. The entrance to the hideout was HUGE, the size of a hangar door and built into the rock face of the mountain. There were 2 guards posted in towers either side of the entrance, and 3 guards cycling between the two towers, as one reached the far end, the other would head back and the cycle would continue.
Maverick, using the dust to his advantage, sneaked up the tower and killed the first sniper, as Scythe tiptoed up the other tower, killing the other guard. Taking out the other 3 was a cakewalk; wait for the first to leave, kill the guard who stayed behind, wait for the other to come back and assassinate both guards remaining… easy.
Next we moved toward the hangar, signaling Dax and Sorrowyn to come to us.
As we peaked inside the hideout we heard noises from the tents to the left of the entrance, Maverick “took care” of the snoring buffoons post haste, and moved on to the next tent… they were worse… 6 men sleeping, card in hand, around a poker table as the radio blasted away… and so did Maverick.
Clearing out the main hangar was the easy part, kill the so called ‘security’ in the tents, then the fool sleeping in his car and finally the mechanic, just as he finishes his work on the engine of a heavy freight truck.
Moving on now to the two buildings at the rear of the hagar. We decided to approach the smaller of the two structures first, so up the outer staircase and through the vastly unprotected door and into what appeared to be a navigation room. What wasn’t stuck down found its way intoMaverick’s pockets, this included a series of maps and coordinates from across Tak Taar and Roth Port.
Downstairs was a break room, probably the officers lounge? As we look around we almost missed the bunks half hidden in the corner of the room behind a privacy screen. As Maverick searches the bunk he is relieved to find his target (a bounty he’d found earlier that day). ‘Putting to sleep’ his target, he cuts off her head as evidence of her demise, this should pay off later :)
Now all that’s left is finding out what’s in the next room! From the size of the structure and the amount of equipment outside we imagined that there would be quite a few mercenaries inside.
Once inside we could better evaluate the situation… We took our time and planned out every step:
First: Lock doors, creating a choke point at the stairs for us to focus on.
Next: Release 2 gas grenades into the ventilation on slow release to fill the room slowly enough not to be noticed.
Then: Well…. 2 flash bangs and go for gold!
The plan worked better than expected, anyone that wasn’t sound asleep was paralyzed… the fight was over before it began.
Now we get to the fun part! LOOT!!!
First things first, this being said…. THE BIG TRAILER!!! We need to know what’s inside!
As we opened the doors Dax had found a nice comfy spot to pass out in, and Scythe was having a rightly earned cigaret.
The doors opened, light beating down onto the face of a stranger. Tied up, beaten, he was worse for wear but there was a spark of recognition in his eyes. Sorrowyn didn’t care for this spark, she just saw a man tied up in a truck, “AREN’T YOU CURIOUS!!!”. He Was a stranger, but not to everyone, he called out to Maverick and Maverick knew who it was.
Durzo Blint: killer by trade, artist by name.
The excitement was over, they started their search of weapons and any valuables that wasn’t nailed down heading back to town a while later with everything they couldn’t carry, burning what they had to leave behind. The day was new, and their adventure was already getting more interesting.
